Why the Reunion Weekend was so Special

This and That... * Winner of the raffle drawing of the P. Buckley Moss print, "Our Alma Mater," was Janice Carter Ross. She took it home with her to Huntsville, Alabama. Thanks to you, we netted $383.00 which we will use for start-up money in 2013. * Another Moss print, "High School Memories" was 'silently' auctioned to Horace "Hod" Hull for $300.00. Thanks to "Hod" for his generosity. * Collectively, approximately 500 people attended the three events...classmates, spouses, guests, teachers. 172+ people came for the casual get together Friday; 138 CLASSMATES attended the MAIN EVENT on Saturday with total number attending at 217; and 82 for Sunday's Brunch. Whew, no wonder we were tired!
"WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?",you ask...Well, we need more space on this free site, so am working on buying more so can get a bunch of pictures on our site. That old saying, "no free lunch" is true. There are three pictures in the album. Have a lot more to post. Patience.

FYI:  CD's~
CD no. 1,Classmates who received a "Music Memories" CD produced by Dick Hatfield either by attending or ordering one, have you listened to it yet? It's truly a walk down "memory lane" and a real treasure. OUR music and local history voiced by Dick, the Imperial Debubba, puts one right back to the wonderful '50's. CD no. 2, the remastered 45rpm "Echoes of Springfield High School 1958," that was inserted in our yearbook, Records, recalls the voices of A Choir and our orchestra's symphonic notes. This CD includes the Fight Song, Wildcat Cheer, "The Alma Mater," "Benedictus," and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." Keep in mind that this is probably the only such recording ever made and our class did it. Now it's even more valuable since the new Springfield High's Alma Mater etc. will be different. End of an era. There are copies still available at $5.00 each. (Great gift for that pal of yours who could not make the reunion.) Order through Beckie Newton Baker or Deanne Schwartz Rucker.

Do you still want that directory that you know you should have ordered since you could not attend Saturday's MAIN EVENT? It's not too late to get one. Has classmates' high school pictures (like the yearbook) and current addresses. If you have lost your yearbook, it's a nice substitute. Order through Beckie Baker.
